So I don't really get into remastered/remixed albums. U2s Joshua Tree--which I was actually excited to hear--was a dud and still a few clicks quiter than an average cd. It seems the remixing genre, if you can call it that, is just for fans looking to waste another 20 bucks.
However - the recent Pearl Jam remastering of Ten is outstanding. Gone is the constant reverb and 80's hairband flair. This album sounds really good. Vedder is up front and powerful. I collect live Pearl Jam bootlegs (cause, yes, I am still stuck in the 1990's), and this album just sounds better than even the passion in the live shows.
For a taste listen to Once (if it still up) on the Pearl Jam Myspace, Here.
