Some repeats, cause I'm slow.
I had a conversation with a friend that made it quite clear to me that I know nothing about hermeneutics. I'm starting with this book and the next, as well as reading Erhman's new book.
See above.
Shane Hipps first book. The criticism are depthy. The opinions are insightful. There are good things to say for Flickering Pixels, but this is a better book for many of us.
A new work by Sweet, a worth while thinker about the church and its future. His book "The Younger Evangelicals" is one of my favorites.
I'm about halfway through this. I'm not blown away by the material or the insights, though I think such redefinitions of the role of the church and the problems we need to address are spot on.
I am reading this again to prep for our Atlas's study of Romans which starts in a few weeks. It's a wonderful read. Highly, highly recommended.
N.T. Wright's latest book. I am really stinkin slow' on the new perspective. I need to write a post just to get the whole thing firmly in mind. This book is enjoyable though. Unfortunately it comes across combative at times, but this isn't necessarily Wright's fault. Other writers are attacking, at a popular level, a thinker who is clearly in a different league. Scott McKnight's discussion here is a great suppliment.
A critical examination of the New Testament.
